How We Smashed Through The Challenges of Learning Tarot

When we were asked to teach people to read the Tarot in one day, we were shocked! We started teaching back in 1990, and had no idea we would pioneer a way to accelerate learning. At that time we spent months compiling a comprehensive manual and developing a 10 week course to teach Tarot Consultants how to become professional readers. Linda studied virtually every expert out there and compiled a huge bookshelf full of Tarot books and Decks. Then we made a discovery quite by accident...

Like everyone else, we had been concentrating on written material, with explanations of all 78 cards, extensive writing materials on how to layout and interpret a reading, etc. Granted, this was much better than the boring books that come with most Tarot decks, but no one was going to learn in a day with the traditional teaching method. Linda and John had been on a Personal development journey for some years. After all, that's how they met. John, with a nerdy engineering background, who knew virtually nothing about Tarot until he met Linda who had been studying and using the cards since she was 17! We figured their had to be an easier way.

Breakthrough Number 1

You may be aware that the Major Arcana consists of the Fool's journey through life. The Fool is the "0" card in the Tarot Deck and represents a young person at the start of a journey. Breakthrough number one was to chronicle that journey using a guided visualisation audio including music designed to represent the essence of each card. The amazing thing is that after listening to this audio once or twice, most people remember the essential meanings of all 22 Major Arcana cards with almost no effort!
